Last Tuesday I was fortunate to be able to watch both the Senior and Junior Kapa Haka groups perform. As part of a celebration to mark the beginning of Matariki, our groups went to a festival at Murray’s Bay Primary where they performed to a large audience of other Kapa Haka groups as well as family and friends. I was very proud of both their performance and the positive spirit they displayed. The children work hard, practising every week and they gain a lot of confidence when they have the opportunity to perform for others.
Achievements like these do not just happen. I wish to congratulate Mrs Mountjoy and thank her for all the effort she puts in to leading Kapa Haka in the school. Thank you also to Mrs Peters who works with our Senior group on Thursday mornings. We appreciate all the parents and teachers who came and supported the children on the day and hope you enjoyed the performances.
