Density Experiment

In room 6 we are learning all about science. We each had to present an experiment and mine was about density. I poured syrup, oil and water into a cup and we all observed the different layers. We dropped a stick, a piece of wire, a gel pen lid and a screw into the cup to see where they landed. The stick floated on top of the oil, the wire sank into the syrup, the gel pen lid sank between the water and syrup and the screw sank all the way to the bottom of the cup, (in the syrup.) I chose this topic because I wanted to know more about how different liquids floated on top of each other.
